The company added that it is looking to expand its sales activities, “especially in Southern Europe”.

With an annual production capacity of five million square meters, it said the plant will be operated in three shifts, starting this October.

“… we intend to further boost our position in the Italian market,” stated Dr. Dietmar Roth, CEO of Roth & Rau AG. “What’s more, we have also taken a major step forward within our strategy of not only supplying pure equipment, but also offering a greater range of service activities in our photovoltaics business."

The company went on to say that it already has a “very high share” of EVA foil sales in the Italian photovoltaics market. By developing its own production facilities, it has said it will be able to react faster to its customers’ needs.
