10 MW Dover Sun Park dedicated

Having taken six months to construct, the project is now delivering energy to Dover’s local utility distribution grid. It covers an area of 103 acres.
The city of Dover, Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation, Delmarva Power and the Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility are purchasing the renewable energy credits. Meanwhile, according to a statement released, over 80 percent of the construction jobs were filled by Delaware residents.
"The Dover Sun Park helped put people to work and is producing clean energy during the times of day when power use is at its peak," commented Delaware Governor Jack Markell, who attended the dedication event alongside Dover Mayor Carleton E. Carey, Sr., LS Power Group subsidiary White Oak Solar Energy, LLC and SunPower.
