In the tender announcement, NTPC says bidders must have installed at least 40 MW of PV plants previously, with at least one of the plants being bigger than 10 MW and operational for a minimum of six months.

Technical and commercial bids will open on October 28.

Earlier this year, NTPC announced a 500 MW tender, also in Andhra Pradesh. In May, it awarded 250 MW to four companies: 100 MW to Tata Power Solar Systems Limited, and 50 MW to BHEL, Sterling Wilson and Lanco Solar Energy, respectively.

Meanwhile, last week, the utility invited bidding for 100 MW of solar projects in Uttar Pradesh. Overall, NTPC is looking to install 15 GW of solar across India by 2020.In February, the government approved its proposal, which will see three separate tranches rolled out in 3 GW, 5 GW and 7 GW segments.
