Folium will use the modules for 710 ground-mounted installations at solar distributed generation sites, located in 35 different counties throughout California, the U.S.

The projects will be installed for Californian utilities under the state’s Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for Small Renewable Generation "Feed-in Tariffs" program, the guidelines of which state that projects must be between 100 kilowatts and 1.5 MW in size.

Work is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year and should be complete in 12 months.

"The projects will be broken into phases based on the pre-construction development work required at each site," explained Brad Stutzman, vice president of Operations at Folium Energy. He added that the first phase will begin immediately and will comprise 15 MW.

Raymond Wiley, director at Aide Solar, U.S.A. went on to say that the agreement represents the start of a long-term relationship between the two parties. "We are discussing a pipeline of solar projects throughout the U.S. as well as a wind project which involves our storage technology," he said.
