Any white knight investor which rescues Bosch‘s aleo solar module production company will arrive too late to save its UK and Australian operations.
The Prenzlau, Germany-based aleo solar announced on its website Thursday it will be ceasing operations in the two countries and winding down its respective subsidiaries.
The latest blow for aleo solar, which said operations in the two countries were unprofitable and missed recent sales targets, casts further doubt over the company's future in the continuing absence of a buyer.
A deal last month which saw German cell maker SolarWorld acquire some of Bosch's solar manufacturing facilities explicitly excluded aleo solar operations from the acquisition.
The closure of its two overseas operations will affect units based in Clayton, for the Australian market, and in Newhaven, in England.
