Astronergy completes 20 MW Chinese PV project

Located in Qinghai Province, Astronergy the delivered photovoltaic modules to the plant. Parent company, the Chint Group, meanwhile, supplied the rest of the key components, including the switch gears (DC/AC), transformers and cables. Overall, it is expected to generate 875 million kilowatt hours of energy over 25 years.

Astronergy says it has developed over 60 MWp worth of photovoltaic projects in China since 2009. CEO, Liyou Yang, added, "The launch of FIT program has transformed the China PV market into a prominent one compared with a year ago. We anticipate the total installed capacity will reach two GW within 2011, and keep increasing in 2012."
