Bechtel is also working on the 250 MW California Solar Valley Ranch project.

The project will be located in Kern County, Southern California, across 1,100 acres. Pending final approval from the California Public Utilities Commission, construction is slated to start this May, and be completed in 2013.

"This large utility-scale project will help meet the growing demand for a mix of renewable energy  sources," said Jim Ivany, president of Bechtel’s Renewable Power business group.

Bechtel is also currently working on two other large-scale solar projects. The first, the 392 MW Ivanpah concentrated solar thermal power project, is set to be one of the biggest systems of its kind when complete, while the second is the 250 MW California Solar Valley Ranch.
