Construction is expected to begin this autumn, with operations beginning in the spring of next year.

Blue Sky Solar will reportedly be installing silicon, tandem thin film photovoltaics (PV) panels from ENN Solar and Astronergy.

By utilizing the two MWs of renewable power, Air Products says it will reduce its dependence on purchased electricity, and lower its carbon footprint by approximately 2,000 tons per year. It adds that the generated power is expected to be enough to serve the energy needs of more than half of the company’s administration buildings.

David Tavianini, worldwide PV marketing manager for Air Products comments: “Air Products is pleased to see the U.S. solar market continue to expand and is proud to be building one of the largest silicon thin-film installations in the country.”
