Bosch Solar to enter Turkish market

Bosch Solar Energy AG has announced it will open a new sales office in Turkey. The company said it will focus on planning and installing turnkey photovoltaic parks in the country.

Expanding its European presence, Bosch has said it will open its Turkey office this summer. It added that the market is attractive, due to its "strong annual sunshine and strongly growing energy needs".

In related news, the company is also building turnkey photovoltaic parks in Bulgaria. Currently underway is the construction of a 50 megawatt (MW) plant in the town of Kazanlak. Bosch said it acquired the rights to the project.

The first phase will see 25 MW installed and connected to the grid by the end of this month. Covering 1.4 million square meters, the plant will comprise 105,000 of Bosch’s crystalline photovoltaic modules. The generated energy is expected to supply around 10,000 households.

"We are optimistic that we will be able to start on the second stage of construction in the second half of this year, representing another 25 megawatts at peak. This step will depend on changes to the feed-in tariff being decided by the Bulgarian government in June," added Holger von Hebel.

Meanwhile, Bosch has also signed new sales contracts with renewable energy wholesaler, SEN Solare Energiesysteme Nord and electronics wholesaler, EWS from Schleswig-Holstein.

Additionally, the company is, for the first time, exhibiting its entire range of photovoltaic modules, manufactured in France and Germany, at this year’s Intersolar Europe tradeshow, which kicked off today in Munich.

"Among the highlights are the high-performance 'Bosch Solar c-Si M 60 EU42117' modules for installation on private rooftops or commercial industrial buildings and outdoor spaces … Another new product is the 'Bosch Solar Rack Air Fix f' for framed modules. The innovative on-roof system for commercial flat rooftops was developed in cooperation with Bosch Rexroth," said the company in a statement released.
