Brazil: First commercial-scale PV plant completed

The one megawatt project is located in the city of Tauá, 360 kilometers from Fortaleza, the capital city of the Ceará region. Ingteam Energy S.A. supplied the system with nine 100 kilowatt inverters.

In a statement, the company said: "The connection of the plant to the Brazilian electricity grid marks an important milestone in the development of solar energy in Brazil (…)."

No further details about the installer or system have been released. However, a spokesperson for Ingteam told pv magazine that the construction period lasted for around eight months.
