The company says it aims to hold 10 percent of the tracker market next year. In a statement, it explains: “With promising market prospects in Canada, levels are expected to reach 350 – 400 megawatts for solar installations in 2011, of which Mecasolar aims to have 10 percent of the ground facilities.”

??In terms of capacity, it expects the new Canadian center to produce 8,000 trackers annually. Furthermore, it says that it will manufacture both 2-axis solar trackers and the latest generation of 15 kW, 1-axis trackers. Both, it states, are compliant with the Canadian Electrical Code.

Twenty-five full time people will reportedly be employed at the facility, which extends over 20,000 feet. There is also space for two acres of outside storage to be added in the future, says the company.??

It adds that it will supply customers both in Ontario, and the northeast U.S. states, such as Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Illinois. It says it already has orders to be delivered to customers early next November.?

?Currently, the company says it has five qualified installers in the country, but its expectation is to increase this number to 20. ?
