Chinese manufacturer Canadian Solar has announced the sale of another four solar plants in Ontario.

The company's Canadian Solar Solutions subsidiary announced today it has signed a sales agreement with a fund managed by investor DIF for four projects totalling 40 MW.

Canadian Solar will perform EPC and operations and maintenance at the four plants as well as equipping them with 190,000 of its CS6X modules "at a value comparable to other recent project sales completed by Canadian Solar on a per-megawatt basis in the Ontario market," according to a company press release.

The four plants – BeamLight in Georgina; Gold Light, in Pefferlaw; Illumination, in Scugog; and Glenarm, at Kawartha Lakes – are all expected to be operational next year with construction on at least one of them due to start this year.

Canadian Solar says around 400 construction jobs will be created by the Ontario schemes.

The sales agreement is subject to conditions including financing – which Canadian Solar says involves ‘leading international banks' – being secured.
