Hamburg-based solar and wind park operator Capital Stage AG has acquired two solar projects in France with a total capacity of 16 MW from Paris-based Solairedirect.

The two projects, with a capacity of 9.2 MWp and 6.8 MWp each, are located in the Aquitaine region in southwestern France. They are scheduled to begin operation by the end of 2014. Project development has been completed and property rights, permissions and a long-term financing agreement with HSH Nordbank are in place. The projects have also secured a feed-in-tariff (FIT) amounting to more than €0.10 per kilowatt hour.

Solairedirect is one of the largest solar companies in France, with more than 250 employees and about 500 MW under operation and construction.

The deal will bring Capital Stage's solar assets in France to a total of 90 MW by the end of the year. The company's total energy production capacity from solar and wind parks in Germany, France and Italy now amounts to to more than 316 MWp.
