China: CNPV to install 2.5 GW
17. May 2012 | Applications & Installations, Industry & Suppliers | By: Becky StuartUnder a new agreement, CNPV Solar Power SA has said it will install 2.5 gigawatts (GW) worth of photovoltaic projects in China's Shandong area.
CNPV will work together with China Guangdong Nuclear Solar Energy Development Company Limited (CGN-SEDC) and Lijin Peoples Government to install the projects around the Bohai Rim over the next five years.
In a statement released, it said the first plant will see 100 megawatts peak (MWp) installed in three stages of 30 MWp, 30 MWp and 40 MWp, respectively.
"Utilising the resources of the three organizations, solar PV installations will be introduced within Shandong province (PRC) on land unfit for other purposes due to high salinity and alkalinity," explained CNPV.
No further details were released.
