Conergy will be constructing the nine solar projects of one megawatt each, with a total of nine megawatts capacity. The installations will be all equipped with Conergy's own in-house manufactured system technology. After a 32MW framework agreement in Greece, Conergy is now securing the next big deal in Italy with a total investment volume of around 32 million Euros.

The parks are situated in Apulia, Emilia Romagna and Veneto.Once connected to the grid, the region will receive 4,200 megawatt hours of solar energy every year and avoid more than 2,200 tons of greenhouse gases annually according to Conergy.

The nine parks are planned for construction in 2011, each covering approximately 25,000 square meters, about the size of three football fields. The nine parks will house about 45,000 Conergy Power Plus modules and employ the SolarLinea mounting systems. Energy is expected to be produced for about 3,250 households in the region.

"This framework agreement about nine solar installations follows the general trend and clearly shows that our system manufacturer strategy pays off," stated Conergy Italy chief Giuseppe Sofia.
