The building permits are said to have been received for the 41 MW Alamo I project in San Antonio, Texas. The first phase is expected to be completed by the end of the year, with the generated energy sold to municipal utility CPS Energy under a 25 year PPA.

The remaining 359 MW, meanwhile, are scheduled for completion by 2016. "The development of each phase of the project gets us closer and closer to bringing clean, renewable energy to homes and businesses throughout the area," stated president Tony Dorazio.

OCI Solar Power says it is currently developing 500 MW of photovoltaic projects across the U.S.
