A one gigawatt production capacity is set to be added to the Los Angeles Delta Energy Systems facility. The facility plans to produce central inverters between 38 kilowatts and one megawatt of output power. The cooperation will see the diversification of both companies' product portfolios.

Delta's cooperation entails bringing in its experience in the development and production of UL approved products. LTi's PVmaster series that is already in European and Asian markets will be the basis of the central inverter line that will be produced. Production is said to begin in the second quarter of 2011.

Delta will show a first prototype of the new UL central inverter line at the Solar Power International tradeshow in Los Angeles.
