German firm Eurosol has teamed up with Ekinler Group in Turkey to launch the new joint venture Ekinler Eurosol Energy.
The company, established in January, bundles the experience of the two companies in targeting the Turkeys fast-growing photovoltaic market.
Headed by Eurosol Managing Director Andreas Fürst and Ekinlers Tuncay Ekin, Ekinler Eurosol will serve as an EPC service provider and wholesaler.
Current changes in Turkeys energy market have made it an opportune time to launch the company, according to Fürst, who said both he and fellow manager Ekin believed in the positive development of future energy technologies such as photovoltaic in Turkey.
Energy in Turkey is still largely based on fossil fuels, 71% of which has to be imported, according to the companies. In order to enlarge its energy capacity, the Turkish government is seeking to achieve an expansion target of 30% of renewable sources by 2023, they added.
Ekinler Eurosol will operate in Turkey in the fields of power supply to industrial customers, large-scale solar power plants and self-powered solutions.
Eurosol stressed that German companies and their products and services enjoyed an extremely good reputation in Turkey, a fact that it sees as a competitive advantage for the new joint venture.
