Emerson supplies inverters to 70 MW PV project in California
29. June 2012 | Applications & Installations, Industry & Suppliers | By: Becky BeetzEmerson has been selected to supply its inverters to two of China-based GCL-Poly’s photovoltaic projects, located in California, the U.S.
The two plants are owned and are being developed by two subsidiaries of GCL, which are involved in project development. In April, they chose Quanta Power Generation to undertake the EPC work.
Located near the city of Alpaugh in Tulare County, California, the first plant will be worth 50 MW. Pre-construction activities are said to have already begun back in February, and work is slated to be completed by the end of the year. Meanwhile, the second, 20 MW plant should be finished by October.
"We expect these two facilities to help boost the local economy by creating jobs and clean, renewable power," commented Mike DonMoyer, president of Quanta Power Generation.
