Emmvee enters PV project development business

Photovoltaic module manufacturer, Emmvee, has entered into the solar project development and EPC business.

Emmvee will develop photovoltaic projects, in addition to manufacturing modules.

According to a statement released today, the company, which was established in Bangalore, India in 1992, plans to design, develop, install and maintain large-scale turnkey projects.

Emmvee says it is already working on the first two projects in Germany: it will both finance and implement them. The first, located in Doberschütz, is said to be Germany’s biggest roof installation with structured glass at 1.4 megawatts (MW), while the second, in Bronkow, will see nearly 12 MW installed at a former military airport. It will also partly consist of structured glass modules, a spokesperson tells pv magazine, and is scheduled for completion by the end of May.

In terms of its module business, the spokesperson says that it is still profitable to produce them. It is currently manufacturing them at a capacity of 130 MW.

D.V.  Manjunatha, founder and MD adds, "We now have new pillars to place our business activities upon in order to generate further business growth in Europe and India: next to photovoltaic modules, solar-thermal appliances and toughening glass, the project development will be a prominent part of our business."

In related news, Emmvee has supplied U.K. solar installer, Solarsense with over 200 photovoltaic modules for a 50 kilowatt peak installation at the Hand Stadium in North Somerset. It is expected to reduce both Clevedon Town Football Club’s energy bill and carbon footprint.
