SNEC PV Power Expo (China), Solarexpo (Italy) and Solar Power International (U.S.) have joined forces to create the alliance. In a statement released, the parties said they would "establish an effective dialogue and education platform for the international solar industry, and act as a catalyst for the development of new and emerging markets for solar technologies."

Overall, the three annual tradeshows boast a combined exhibition space of 500,000 square meters, 5,000 exhibitors and 300,000 attendees. They say that by coming together, they can "play a leadership role in generating new ideas and opportunities to support the global solar market, with benefits for solar companies and consumers alike."

Julia Hamm and Rhone Resch, heads of SEPA and SEIA, stated, "This global partnership … will provide unprecedented business development opportunities across three continents and beyond."

The 6th SNEC kicked off today, May 16, in Shanghai, China. Watch out for news from the event on www.pv-magazine.com
