Under its terms, the Canadian company will supply GP Joule with its solar modules over the course of this year. Shawn Qu, chairman and CEO of Canadian Solar believes the deal will facilitate further European growth.
He commented: "Germany has always set the model for the solar industry as one of the most attractive and efficient solar markets. This latest agreement will help Canadian Solar further expand our brand and footprint in Europe, as we leverage the full support of GP Joule, a proven local partner able to handle large scale projects."
The two companies have worked together since 2009. GP Joule has four offices in Germany, in addition to joint ventures in North America and France. In the solar sector, it is primarily focused on installing ground mounted photovoltaics systems.
