Hanwha Q CELLS has teamed up with the U.K.'s Solarcentury to develop a 10 MW solar PV farm in the southern English county of Somerset, U.K.

The German-headquartered solar specialist announced today that it supplied 40,000 of its Q CELLS Q.Pro-G3 modules to the project, with British solar firm Solarcentury responsible for the plant’s engineering, procurement and construction (EPC).

Now ready for grid connection, the 10 MW plant is expected to provide clean solar power for some 3,000 local households.

"After successfully completing our previous 15 MW project in Hardingham together with Hanwha QCELLS, we decided to use the high-quality Q.Pro-G3 modules again for another solar park in the U.K.," said Solarcentury CEO, Frans van den Heuvel.

"We are pleased to implement another project with Solarcentury," said Hanwha Q CELLS' director of sales for UK, Ireland and Scandinavia, Jonathan Goose. "The solar power plant will deliver 10 MWh of clean energy, contributing significantly to the area’s C02 reduction.

"In general, we are seeing an increased demand for our ‘Engineered in Germany' products."
