Spain’s Ingeteam has exceeded 120 MW of PV power supplied in Chile. The inverter manufacturer and operations and maintenance (O&M) specialist achieved the record figure with its INGECON SUN PowerMax central inverters, which feature a rated power of 1 MW and a maximum efficiency of 99.1%.

The company installed the inverters in a solar plant in Chile’s Atacama Desert with a 100 MW power output — the largest plant in operation in Latin America to date. The plant is expected to generate up to 270 gigawatt hours of energy per year due to the intense solar radiation levels recorded in this region.

Ingeteam has become a leading O&M provider for renewable energy plants in in Latin America, with contracts totaling 1.2 GW.

The company, which has had a subsidiary in Santiago de Chile for more than three years, is one of this year’s sponsors of the Chilean International Renewable Energy Congress (CIREC), which runs September 9-10 in the Chiliean capital.

In addition to showcasing its latest solar inverters for residential facilities and large PV plants, Óscar González, Ingeteam’s business development manager in Chile, will present details of the group's solutions for the integration of energy storage systems in diesel networks. Likewise, Luis Moreno, Ingeteam’s service sales manager, will discuss Ingeteam’s plans to meet the demand of the Chilean industry with regard to wind and PV plant O&M services.
