The Strambino facility – a joint venture between Enel Green Power and Finpiemonte Partecipazioni – is expected to produce around three million kilowatt hours annually, and should meet the needs of 1,100 households. It is estimated to be completed in January.
Strambino Solar, of which Enel Green Power and Finpiemonte Partecipazioni each own 60 percent and 40 percent respectively, will develop the project.
"Investments in the PV sector in marginal areas will continue to be among the main objectives we will be pursuing in the future, commented Paolo Marchioni, chairman of Finpiemonte Partecipazioni. "At the same time, however, we will also launch new development initiatives involving mini-hydro power, leveraging the potential that Piedmont has to offer in this field."
