The first plant, located in the province of Cremona, will have a peak power of one MW and is expected to produce enough energy to supply around 300 four-member families. Installed on fixed structures, it will be built across an area of about 25,000 square meters. A local farm provided the investment.

The second turnkey project, continued the company, is situated in Alessandria and will also be on fixed structures: peak power is expected to be 2.08 MWs, and should produce enough energy to supply approximately 600 families.

It will be built on a total area of about 40,000 square meters and is the result of a second agreement with Sunflower Italia Srl, a subsidiary of the Israeli investment company Sunflower, with which Martifer already concluded the building of another PV plant of similar peak power in the same province.

The construction of both plants started in October and is expected to be finished by the end of the year.

“We are pleased to have started a replica of our previous project in Alessandria with Sunflower and to add another project to our track record in the North of Italy – Cremona – raising it to more than eight MWs currently in progress. In particular, Cremona project allowed us to add the agricultural category to our clients’ portfolio which was only composed by financial and industrial clients so far.” Pedro Pereira, managing director of Martifer Solar Italy, stated.

The company has said that it will install more than 24 MWs of PV plants, both in the Northern and Southern Italy, this year. It added that the EPC contracts in progress across Italy and on behalf of different clients have a value of more than €75 million.
