Luxembourg-based Securum Equity Partners Europe signed a framework agreement with the Republic of Serbia last November for the installation of the system. Worth an estimated €2 billion, it is expected to be the biggest PV park in the world when complete.

The "Onegiga Project" will reportedly be made up of one hundred systems with a unit power of 10 megawatts each, to be installed between 2013 and 2015. The land to be used is located in the vicinity of power lines, and has adequate electricity transmission capacity.

Said to represent the largest purchase of photovoltaic components recorded, the contract between Securum and MX Group is worth €1.75 billion. According to MX Group representative, Carmelito Denaro, it also includes the possibility of the opening of a photovoltaic panel factory in Serbia, with a production capacity of 80 to 120 MW per year and an annual turnover of €40 million to €70 million.
