The resignation will allow Chung to "pursue other opportunities", according to a statement released by JA Solar. She will, however, stay on until August 19 in order to hand over to Cao.

"Anthea has played a key role in establishing JA Solar as one of the clear leaders in the solar industry," commented chief executive officer Peng Fang. "I'd like to express our sincere thanks for her contribution, and wish her every success in her future endeavors."

Before his entry into the solar industry in 2006, Cao worked for over a decade in the financial services sector. Most recently, he was vice president of Jinglong Group, and managing director of JL Capital. Prior to that, he served as vice president of finance with Solarfun.
