JinkoSolar provides PV for mosques in Jordan

The modules will be installed at several unspecified mosques in Jordan’s Sweileh, Khalda, Safoot, Zarqa and Abu Alanda districts.

It did not reveal how much capacity it is providing, nor did it disclose the terms of the deal.

The projects are part of an initiative under Jordan’s Ministry Of Awqaf And Islamic Affairs.

The government wants to install PV systems at hundreds of mosques throughout the country, according to an online statement.

"This is another big step for us in expanding our presence in the Middle East market,” said JinkoSolar vice president of global sales Gener Miao.

In April, the company supplied 23MW of its Eagle solar modules to Italy’s Energy and Jeddah-based EPC contractor Desert Technologies for an array in Ma’an, roughly 200km north of the Jordanian capital of Amman.

Earlier this month, JinkoSolar — based in Shangrao, Jiangxi province — revealed that it had deepened its collaborative ties with metallization paste producer Heraeus Photovoltaics, by using the German company’s front-side silver paste on its new high-efficiency solar cells.
