Based in Birmingham, juwi Renewable Energies Ltd has said it intends to build its projects mainly in the south of the country, and will develop all the processes itself, from acquisition of land to the completion of the power plant.
Furthermore, the company has said it will realize turnkey projects in which it acts as the general contractor for the design, engineering and construction of both free field and rooftop solar installations.
Around 60 people are expected to be hired by the company until the end of 2012.
"The UK currently provides excellent conditions for the solar industry; the country is becoming an attractive European market. We are happy that the United Kingdom jumps on the bandwagon on the way to renewable energies and a comprehensive restructuring of the energy supply.
"We want to contribute to a further acceleration of this train so that we reach 100 percent renewable energies as soon as possible," commented Lars Falck, head of juwi Solar and at the moment managing director of juwi UK. The management will be taken over by a British candidate within the next months.
The company added that based on the promising conditions in the UK, it expects "strong growth" within the next two years.
