Kaco New Energy (Kaco) has signed a 50 MW supply deal with Turkeys Aldo Grup for the shipment of its blueplanet 50.0 TL3 INT string inverters.
The German inverter specialist will supply the inverters in two, 25 MW batches, the first of which will be delivered no later than March next year, the company confirmed. The supply deal is expected to be completed before the end of 2017.
Kaco produces its three-phase string inverters at its Neckardulm site in Germany, and will fit these batches with ten string fuses and DC-combined conductors and an AC-combined conductor for easy retrofitting.
Aldo Grup is hoping to install up to 100 ME of new solar PV capacity in Turkey between now and 2018, and has already begun constructing solar farms in the country using the first 240 blueplanet inverters that have already been shipped to a 12 MW site in the city of Kayseri in central Turkey.
"The Aldo Grup is a family-run business that has been operating for more than 35 years," said KACO country manager for Turkey Nedret Ünlü. "We are delighted that a company with such a long history is turning to the workmanship of a medium-sized German business that is also run as a family business."
Ünlü added that Kaco is "well on the way" to developing more solar PV projects in Turkey via this partnership, with both firms buoyed by the Turkish governments pledge to bring 10 GW of solar PV online by 2023.
The government last week introduced a new 1 GW solar tender to help it achieve this aim.
