LG Electronics expands production capacity

Share

LG Electronics has increased its PV module capacity and converted its production of MonoX products from A3 to B3. The company said the move reflected the continuing high demand for photovoltaic products.

The B3 module boasts a greater active cell area while retaining the same panel size. The model offers improved and more efficient use of the module's outer edge and in-between areas, increasing and enhancing its overall efficiency, achieving a peak performance of up to 275 W per module.

The company also intends to expand production capacity for its MonoX Neon module series, introduced in 2013 with an average peak power of 300 W. LG is planning to add a further 120 MW capacity production line for the series at its plant in the South Korean city of Gumi in August.
