Shanghai-based solar manufacturer and developer Renesola is remaining tight-lipped over details surrounding the 22.5 MW of utility scale solar it announced it had won the contract to develop in Japan last week.
A press release issued by the company last Monday announced plans for the ground-mount projects, adding they would use Renesola's Virtus II modules and very little else.
A spokesman for Ogilvy Financial, on behalf of the Chinese manufacturer, told pv magazine the projects in question would be based in Miyazaki, Tochigi, Gifu, Kyoto, Chiba and Aichi and would range in size from hundreds of kW up to 17 MW.
The spokesman confirmed FITs have been agreed, but would not give a price, and was unable to reveal how much will be invested by Renesola in the projects as well as revealing suppliers had not been found for EPC work and other equipment, such as inverters.
The Ogilvy spokesman was also unwilling to reveal the size of Renesola's pipeline in Japan or the company's ambitions for the Japanese market.
The original press release issued by Renesola stated the projects would be connected by the end of this year and early next year.
