07. June 2012 | Intersolar 2012 |Italian company Fiamm will be presenting at Intersolar, among other things, its sodium nickel battery, SoNick.
The company states that the SoNick is capable of meeting growing market demands from the backup power sector and in the field of storage and distribution of energy. SoNick claims to have low running costs and allows operation regardless of outside temperatures. It also has 40 percent less weight than lead batteries. No harmful or toxic materials are used in its construction and the company claims a rapid charging and discharging capacity. All parts are also recyclable.
