The Luxembourg-based European Investment Bank (EIB) was named Top Lead Arranger for a number of loans that encompassed photovoltaic schemes including climate change mitigation funding of 150 million (US$200m) to the Export-Import Bank of India and 142m to an unnamed EU-based bank for schemes in South Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Australasia and the central Pacific.
The EIB also provided a 230m loan to Santander for clean energy and energy efficiency schemes in Spain and other EU countries and GBP150m (US$240m) to the UK's Co-Operative bank for small and medium-sized investments in renewables and energy efficiency.
Japan's Mitsubishi UFJ Financial named Top Syndicated Lender offers lower interest rates to homeowners who fit photovoltaic systems.
Switzerland's Emerald Technology Ventures was named Top Investor in the venture capital and private equity segment and its clean energy portfolio includes Toledo, Ohio-based Xunlight Corporation, which manufactures lightweight photovoltaic rooftop modules at its U.S. base.
