Roth & Rau has taken over a production site of the Lubeck-based Possehl Group in, Shenzhen, China, which primarily manufacturers precision tools and parts for the semiconductor market.

In addition to taking the facility and its production equipment over, Roth & Rau has also acquired 145 employees.

The company says that it will use the China site to further expand its spare parts and service business "in the dynamically growing photovoltaics market in Asia". The move underlines its strategy of internationalization.

"Maintaining a strong local presence is a precondition for a profitable after-sales business in Asia. Only by having proprietary production on location can we offer our Asian customers an optimal mix of quality, suitable costs and short delivery times," explained Dietmar Roth, CEO of Roth & Rau AG.
