SCE signs PPAs for 20 PV projects

The bulk of the agreements are with Martifer Solar and Silverado Power, who have signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for nine ground-mounted PV projects worth a total of 113 MWp. The projects, which are slated for completion in 2013, will be located in Los Angeles County.

The deal, say the companies, is part of a growing portfolio of over 400 MWs of utility-scale projects that they intend to realize in the U.S.

"As the nation's leading utility for renewables, it is with great pride that we partner with these independent producers to provide emission-free power to Southern Californians," said Marc Ulrich, SCE's vice president, Renewable and Alternative Power. "We view these agreements as a win for business, a win for our customers, and a win for the environment."

The SCE contracts are a result of SCE's 2010 Renewables Standard Contracts Request for Offers, a voluntary renewable procurement program for small projects that SCE has held for several years.
