Share

The project is a German-Russian joint venture with German companies Solon SE, Inventux Technologies, BAE Batterien and Russian firm OAO"NPPKVANT" working in cooperation. The system is a flagship project under the ‘dena Solar Roof Program for Foreign Market Development' which is developed by the German Energy Agency and co-financed by the German Ministry of Economics and Technology. The Russian government on its part has announced its goal of increasing the share of renewable energy in the country from the current one percent to 4.5 percent by 2020.

The project involves two separate solar systems, each with a different power generation technology. Solon's crystalline based system generated power will be fed into the public power grid and the power from Inventux's silicon based thin film will be initially stored in BAE batteries.

The goal of the project is to raise international awareness of photovoltaics and demonstrate the quality of the German PV products to new foreign markets according to a Solon press release. The PV rooftop is scheduled to be officially opened on the 2nd of November this year.
