Solar Frontier will supply its advanced CIS solar module technology for two solar energy projects located near the city of Indianapolis in the U.S. state of Indiana.
Each of the solar power plants will have a capacity of 7 MW. Construction is underway and both projects are expected to be completed before the end of the year.
Solar Frontier signed the module supply agreement with an unnamed California-based solar developer, investor and long-term owner of solar energy facilities.
Full service electrical/mechanical contractor Vaughn Industries is constructing the plants.
We are anticipating higher energy production and respective lower LCOE on these projects than conventional solar modules through the installation of Solar Frontiers CIS technology, said Vaughn Industries CEO Tim Vaughn.
Solar Frontier describes its advanced CIS modules as a proven technology that generates higher energy yield (kilowatt-hours per kilowatt peak) in real-world environments than crystalline silicon technologies.
