Share

The homes that are to be developed in Southern California by KB Home will be fitted with six-panel photovoltaic systems that will be incorporated by SunPower Corp. The standard system will produce approximately 30 percent of the daily power needed for an average 1,800 to 2,000 square foot home. Potential home owners will be given the option to upgrade to 14 panel systems as well.

KB Home has given the option of solar power systems in previous developments for buyers but this is the first time the developments come with solar systems as a standard. The company aims to test the popularity of these developments which will influence its future decisions. The developments which will be completed end of this year and early next year are being built in Eastvale, Chula Vista, Temecula, Lancaster, Santa Clarita, Chino, Valencia and Lake Forest.
