Spanish company Soltec Renewable Energies will supply 80 MW of solar trackers to Enel Green Power's Pampa Norte PV project in Chile's Antofagasta province.

Implemented by Tozzi Chile, Pampa Norte marks Soltec's fourth project in the country. Soltec is providing solar trackers from its SF Utility range.

Pampa Norte brings Soltec's total accumulated installed capacity in Latin America to 170 MW. The company said forecasts for the Latin American sector have have increased its annual production capacity to 450 MW.

"We are optimist about the year 2015," said Fernando Sánchez, Soltec's general manager in Chile. "The market is very active now and we are participating in competitive processes for several hundred megawatts. Our goal is to establish ourselves as leaders in the supply and installation of solar trackers in the Chilean market."

Last year, the company was involved in the installation of three projects in Chile. "We are very pleased with the results of 2014. It was our first year in Chile and we supplied and installed 90 MW of our solar trackers."

With a workforce of over 150 employees in Chile, Soltec offers engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operation and maintenance (O&M) services for both small and large photovoltaic installations.

Last month Enel Green Power completed three new photovoltaic plants in Chile, the 60 MW Lalackama, Chañares (40 MW) and the Diego de Almagro (36 MW).

The solar parks, located in the regions of Antofagasta and Atacama, with an overall installed capacity of 136 MW, cost some $240 million.
