SunEdison has completed and connected two solar PV plants in Ontario, the the 17.8 MW Solar Spirit and the 17.9 MW Bruining solar power plants.
The Solar Spirit solar power plant is owned by BluEarth Renewables while the Bruining solar power plant was purchased by Firelight Infrastructure Partners. SunEdison's O&M unit SunEdison Services will oversee operation and maintenance of the plants, which will provide energy to the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) through a 20-year feed-in-tariff agreement.
Michelle Chislett, SunEdison VP and Canadian Regional manager, said the two projects provided more than 200 construction jobs and allowed the company to support Ontario's goal of increasing the availability of clean, renewable energy.
SunEdison has has now installed more than 250 MW of utility-scale and commercial roof-top solar power plants in Canada.
