The promising Thai PV market appears to be performing strongly again, as political stability returns to the country. Suntech is building on its track of having supplied 260 MW of modules to the country, with its latest a 63 MW deal.

Suntech reports that it will ship four busbar modules to the market, which are well suited to Thailands hot and humid climate. Suntech is currently updating over 2 GW of its module production to 4-busbar interconnection technology. The Chinese manufacturer will ship its Vem series modules to Gunkul Engineering.
Suntech has a proven track record in Thailand, when it comes to performance and quality, as seen with the panels provided to the Sunny Bangchak solar project, said Gunkul Engineering president Sopacha Dhumrongpiyawut Following the floods in 2011, the panels were submerged in water for 2 months. When the water finally receded, 80% of the panels were still producing solar.
BNEF expects Thailand to install around 600 MW of PV capacity in 2015.
