In the deal announced yesterday, Suntech will supply solarhybrid with 172 megawatts (MW) of solar panels for five plants within Germany.

Suntech will also supply modules for slated projects including a 10 MW project in Italy and a six MW project in Slovakia. The two firms had previously collaborated on solarhybrid’s 24.2 MW Finow Tower 1 project in Germany last year.

A spokesperson for Suntech tells pv magazine that while the deal's financial terms have not been disclosed, it represents alomst nine percent of its full year European shipment targets.

They add that the company's 2.2 gigawatts (GW) shipment target has been reconfirmed for 2011, of which 53 percent (1.166 GW) is slated for the European market.
