Taiwan's leading solar PV companies have enjoyed an extremely positive start to 2014, with three of the country’s most well-known firms posting robust performance figures for the month of February.

Neo Solar Power Corp. (NSP) led the way with a 171.18% year-on-year increase in revenue last month. The solar cell manufacturer recently merged with fellow Taiwanese cell producer DelSolar Co. Ltd. in a move that helped swell NSP’s revenue to $77.1 million last month.

Although undoubtedly a strong performance, that figure was actually down by 3.67% on January, indicating just how well NSP has begun the year. Combined, the aggregate revenue for January and February was an impressive 186.7% increase on last year.

Fellow Taiwanese solar company Motech Industries has also posted a positive set of figures, reporting a 90.93% year-on-year revenue increase for February, when earnings topped $62.8 million. Like NSP, this was actually down slightly (8.42%) on January, but the two-month aggregate compared to last year revealed a revenue increase of more than 95%.

Finally, Taiwan-based multicrystalline wafer producer Green Energy Technology Inc. (GET) posted revenues of $42.5 million in February, which is an 39.6% increase on last year. Combined, the aggregate revenues achieved in January and February this year are 51.5% up on last year, with the company able to run its production capacity utilization at more than 95% throughout February – a performance that hints at further strong growth figures to come for the months of March and April.
