TMEIC to develop 200 MW solar pipeline in China with ACC

Asia Clean Capital (ACC) is going to fund and construct 200 MW of solar PV projects across China over the next few years in collaboration with Japanese solar inverter specialist, TMEIC (Toshiba Mitsubishi Electric Industrial Systems Corporation).

The two firms have signed a cooperation agreement under which TMEIC will provide technical support, equipment supply and other services required to develop a suite of rooftop applications in various locations on mainland China.

Further, ACC and TMEIC will work together on the development of a 20 MW shipyard solar station in East China – with the former providing the investment and construction capabilities, and the latter the requisite inverter technology.

ACC will own and operate all projects completed under the cooperation agreement.

"Cooperation between ACC and TMEIC will allow both companies to further accelerate their development of the red-hot Chinese solar market," said ACC CEO Thomas Lapham.

Japan’s TMEIC has enjoyed the bulk of its success thus far in its domestic market, but recent changes to the Japanese FIT are expected to usher in a market contraction in 2017, prompting the firm to begin expanding its globalization efforts.
