Trina Solar and Cirque du Soleil enter into partnership

In a fitting partnership, Cirque du Soleil – translating as ‘Circus of Sun’ – has joined forces with the world’s largest PV manufacturer, China-based Trina Solar. If the name alone is not enough to inspire the partnership, the two companies want to draw on one another’s global reach and influence to further their brands and to offer each other a range of benefits.

The partnership, which is Cirque du Soleil’s first official solar partnership, will be launched at the Solar Power International trade show in Las Vegas in September, where Cirque du Soleil artists will perform at the Trina Solar booth.

“This partnership is a natural fit for Trina Solar,” commented Trina Solar’s head of global marketing Jing Tian. “We are striving to promote our commitment to tapping into human imagination and inspiring people around the world, and we hope our partnership with Cirque du Soleil will help us achieve this goal.”

The partnership is mainly concerned with co-promotion, but, as a bonus part of the deal, Cirque du Soleil will offer Trina customers and employees ‘Cirque du Soleil experiences.’ The two companies believe that they offer services that are based on similar principals, which is why the partnership will be such a nice fit.

“At Trina Solar, we are committed to protecting the environment and spearheading industry-wide change with groundbreaking research and development,” said Trina Solar’s president of the Americas region Jeff Dorety. “We are excited to partner with Cirque du Soleil because our two brands are both driven by innovation and quality. Cirque du Soleil is also known for its unique experience and broad appeal, which is why we are confident this is an excellent fit.”
