SPI Energy has a varied solar PV portfolio across China covering projects of many different sizes. The signing of these two new EPC contracts shows the confidence that other Chinese developers have in the company.
The larger of the two projects is a 40 MW plant that is located in Inner Mongolia province, and is being developed in partnership with Jitong New Energy Technology. The EPC contract is for phase two of the project, which will result in a 50 MW site once it has been completed.
The second of the two is a smaller project of just 6 MW in Gansu province. This is being developed in tandem with Linze County Tianheng New Energy, and will generate 12 MW once the next phase of the construction has been completed.
The company expects both of the projects to be completed by the end of 2017. It has said that it will be providing a number of services to the projects, including engineering and construction of the sites.
These projects add to SPI Energys strategy of delivering high quality solar plants and supplying more clean energy to the grid in China, said Xiaofeng Peng, Chairman and CEO of SPI Energy. SPI Energy has successfully completed the first phase of these projects and we are delighted to be awarded the remaining EPC work as well. This is a testament to the strong focus on quality and efficiency of our experienced team.
SPI Energy has been expanding its presence in China, especially over recent months. This includes various distributed generation projects, such as the four projects, totaling 12.8 MW, that it recently completed in the in Jiangsu, Jiangxi, and Shandong provinces of China.
