Ultralight tracking system
06. September 2010 | EU PVSEC 2010, Products |GeckoVoltaik is showing its single-axis tracking system ilioflex at EU PVSEC. Because of its low grammage of less than ten kilograms per square meter, it is suitable for industrial roof surfaces whose static properties weren't sufficient for tracking systems before, says GeckoVoltaik.
The system adjusts itself exactly to the optimal angle to the sun using astronomic controls. Two sensors on the module field’s outer edges ensure that no module rows behind the system are shaded during backtracking.
A linear motor operates the system, which the manufacturer says is designed for a lifetime of more than 30 years. It is very stable because of a stiff aluminum substructure and suitable for all types of modules, according to the company.
