Share

The company began manufacturing solar panels at the site on February 7. A spokesperson tells pv magazine that annual production capacity is currently 40 megawatts (MW). However, the company is preparing to ramp up to 120 MW in terms of square footage and installed power supply. The sum invested was not disclosed.

The facility is reportedly the first of its kind in the state. A ribbon-cutting event was held today to mark the occasion. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Secretary Perez and other state and local officials, as well as renewable energy industry leaders, were expected to attend.

Steve Ostrenga, CEO, Helios commented: "After months of planning, we’re looking forward to celebrating and thanking those that helped achieve our shared vision of creating this energy efficient facility."
